Hi! I’m Lauren.

Background

I was born and raised in Nepean, Ontario. From a young age, I was full of energy and so curious about the world around me. I also loved to write and aspired to be an author.

In high school, it became clear to me that I wanted to pursue a career in communications. I wanted to use my effective writing and communication skills to make the world a better place! So, I went on to graduate in 2014 with a Bachelor Degree in Communication Studies from Carleton University. Right after graduation, I started working at ACFO-ACAF, a union for finance professionals in the federal government.

Through my role at ACFO-ACAF, I helped plan multiple professional development seminars for our members. Arranging these seminars, I discovered the world of emotional intelligence—I instantly fell in love!

From there, I was inspired to become an emotional intelligence facilitator and get certified in the EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360 models. It was a classmate in the certification course who introduced me to coaching and inspired me to pursue my International Coach Federation designation. I received my ACC designation in October of 2022.

In my spare time, I love to chat about my latest read with my book club, travel the globe with my mom (in a non-pandemic world), dance around my house (poorly) to K-pop, and spend quality time with my husband, Josh.

Approach

I have an absolute zest for life! I love to bring enthusiasm, positivity, and warmth to my practice. I’m a goofball who doesn’t take myself too seriously, so working with me will never be boring!

I also highly value collaboration. Whether we’re working on improving your emotional intelligence, having a coaching session, or developing a communications strategy, I don’t hold the power—the power lies in the relationship we grow together.

That isn’t to say I won’t push you. You can’t learn or grow unless you get out of your comfort zone. I like to ask powerful questions that will challenge you and help you see things from a new, different perspective.

I can’t wait to work with you, whether you’re a student, new to the working world, or a seasoned professional!
